Handling of Customers' Personal Information

Pias Corporation and its affiliated companies (hereinafter collectively referred to as “the Companies”) are committed to protecting the personal information of customers who use this Website by placing top priority on handling and storing such information appropriately and securely.

Definition of Personal Information

The term “personal information” refers to addresses, names, ages, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and other personally identifiable information provided to the Companies by customers via this Website.

Collection of Personal Information

The Companies will use personal information registered on this Website by customers within the scope of the purposes of use that are communicated to customers when such information is provided or within the scope of the purposes of use disclosed on the Companies' respective websites.

Purposes of Use of Personal Information

The Companies will use personal information for the following purposes: providing product information relating to customers' health and beauty interests and information relating to our campaigns; sending messages requesting cooperation in answering questionnaires to assist in new product development; and providing counseling and other services.

The Companies may share the personal information of customers within the above-mentioned purposes of use, only within the Pias Group.

The Companies will not provide or disclose the personal information of any customer to any third party unless such provision or disclosure:

  • is agreed to in advance by the relevant customer;
  • is required under any law or regulation;
  • is necessary in order to protect human lives, human bodies, or properties;
  • is necessary in order to improve public health or promote sound development of children; or
  • is made to an outsourcee that has entered into a non-disclosure agreement with the Companies regarding handling of personal information within the scope necessary for implementing the purposes of use clearly indicated to customers.

Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If a customer requests that his/her personal information be disclosed or corrected, or that use thereof be suspended, we shall respond promptly in accordance with laws and regulations upon verification that any such request is, in fact, made by the relevant customer.

Legal Compliance, and Improvement and Modification in Handling of Personal Information

In handling customers' personal information, the Companies are committed to complying with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws of Japan, as well as to reviewing, improving, and modifying the methods of handling thereof, on an ongoing basis.
Please be advised that these privacy policies may be changed without prior notice as a result of the terms of the preceding sentence.

Control of Personal Information

In handling customers' personal information, the Companies shall properly control such information and shall strive to maintain security in order to prevent such information being leaked to any third party.

The Companies have adopted the digital authentication services provided by Symantec Corporation as their SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption communication technology in order to ensure the security of customers' personal information whenever any such information is transmitted.
